Crafting Help with Materia

Hello all,

My wife and I are recent level 50 crafters and we are working on putting materia into our slots. We came across a problem last night where you have to be a certain job to meld the materia related to the piece your wanting to meld on. The first problem is that my wife has already worn her gear and it has spirit bond on it and she cannot meld the materia herself. She cannot trade it to me to meld for her due to the spirit bond. Is there a way to reduce the spirit bond to 0 to allow her to trade to me to due the meld or are we stuck in a situation where I would have to craft all of her HQ pieces again and meld before I give it to her? ...

She doesn't need to trade anything to you. She can right-click (or square button on gamepad) on you and select Request Meld when you're switched to the appropriate class. Select the item to be melded, and the materia to meld to it. Won't matter if it's bound or not.

Just a heads up to maybe save you and your wife a little confusion as you seem to have not done this before. If you are the one requesting the meld from another player, you need to be the one with all the materials in your inventory. Don't give them to the player doing the actual meld.
