Question about cancelling subscription

First, apologies if this has been asked a ton or if there is a forum about it. Feel free to direct if there is another post.

I will likely need to be taking a break from FFXIV and was just wondering if I will be able to keep my character if I cancel the subscription for a time? I definitely would not want my character to be gone when I come back so any info would be great.

Why cancel if this is what you want to do? Just let your sub expire and resub when you want to come back.

Just cancel auto renew . Your character will be waiting for you when you come back
