New dyes not sellable

So I logged in after seeing the patch notes, hyped about new dyes, and the possibility to maybe make some quick cash. Send my retainers out on ventures and keep my fingers crossed. My i93 Lancer one strikes pay dirt, and comes back with 2 pots of pure white dye!! I go to sell it.. and boom, brick wall, can't be sold on the market board. I ask a friend to see if I can maybe trade it and sell it through Party finder, but alas, i get shafted again. Why is this a thing.. its JUST dye, why is it untradeable and unsellable? I know its supposed to be rare, but why make it this way.. yeah I can use the dyes myself, but really? I know I'm not the only one out there thats bumped into this.

This really depends on your server. Balmung doesn't have a shortage of people who can and are willign to make/get the new vanity gear. Of course some stuff is more rare, but that's where the price goes up. Looking at you Cul desynth items!!

I shouldn't have to do this.. I have a million other things to do besides sit in town and list a party finder to vend some dye. Nexus, coil, FC help, ninja prep. That's just in-game stuff, not even related to IRL things.

This is a useless border. The dyes are rare, and will be used often. The price won't depreciate for a while until people get their fill. but like I said before, why are there borders to begin with?

Feel Free to keep posting, I'm kind of trying to maybe get a dev responce on this, since it is really silly in my eyes.

Personally, I'm glad. I'm sick of ridiculously priced Vanity items.

I'm not happy with this either as people have been asking for proper black and white dyes for ages. I'd also like to point out that the assertion these are not "ridiculously priced vanity items" is patently incorrect as you have to both level and gear out a retainer in order to get them. I cannot believe they added these with no means to trade/sell them and honestly I question exactly why they thought this was a good idea.

Dye something sellable, sell it. Or like I've seen someone do, put up a PF offering to dye something tradeable for a fee.

Because Square wants people to actually use retainer quick ventures to get rare stuff? Or maybe Square doesn't want people to farm the rare dyes and then sell them at super cheap prices in bulk, defeating the purpose of the items being rare.

uhm... since dyeing doesn't bound the gear, this is even more of a seller's paradise...

There's absolutely no reason for them to be rare at all.

This is something the community has been asking for since the very first dye patch when the "white" and "black" dyes they gave use were crap, and SE responds by making them ludicrously difficult to obtain by burying them in an enormous dice-rolled loot table that requires training and gearing a retainer to max level to even TRY to get them.

This is literally the worst way they could have possibly implemented this.

I agree, I'd love to buy large quantities of all 4 new dyes and apply them to many items, but.... I only have a miner retainer which would be expensive to meld out its gathering rating, and it would take a long time to level up a new battle class retainer to 50. Then there's rng to get any dye.

I agree with it being a "Useless boarder". They should chance it... :(
