The high GP cost is to prevent it from being spammable and flooding the market with seeds/soils/whatever. I thought of it as a way to mitigate the RNG grind that arises from the randomly spawning seeds from low level nodes. It took me almost an entire HOUR to get just four almond seeds for my garden plot the other day (yes, I was just checking each node and then exiting to sprint to the next node).

Considering 3.0 will see a Level Cap increase, I don't see why this ability couldn't be a part of 3.0! Sounds very useful!
