Since SE won't give us a PvP server....

How about we, as the PvP community, pick a server for everyone to migrate to. Will everyone be able to join? Nope, that's nearly impossible! Not everyone reads these forums, but it will be a start.

I recently transferred to Tonberry and so far the PvP is amazing. All of my games have been full and my queues have been extremely short! I suggest we go to a JP server since they're already interested in PvP.

I'm not really sure how to start a poll (or if it's even possible...pretty new to the forums still) but if someone can show me how to add it to this post I will gladly put it in. I wouldn't mind if we choose a different server from the one I just transferred to; spending another $18 for a server full of like minded people seems like a bargain to me. :)

If anyone disagrees kindly list the reasons why you think this is a bad idea so that we can find a way to make it better. Point out the flaws so that we can fix it :)

As awesome as a pvp only server would be, i really feel this shouldn't be an issue if Square did pvp right to begin with.

SE did this with FFXI, little to no reason to pvp. So unless you're Hardcore and just love it, there is little to no reason to do it. Sure it gives myth/soldier, but really no other reason.
Back in FFXI, you'd get maybe 6+ people to show up for 60 and uncapped Ballista. There were no rewards besides a title. Brenner was a cool and unique mode, but eventually was abandoned because, again... no reason to play besides for fun. Eventually Brenner, and soon after, ballista, were dead. FFXIV is following suit.

I know i now find myself queuing less often, mostly because of queue times. Waiting 30+ minutes to play is one thing, but not even being able to play Frontlines late at night is another.

Part 2 (too many characters to include in first post)

I think they should up the Myth/Soldier reward per match, or Ive seen people purpose a gradual reward, (myth/soldier/pvp exp based on points in a match) which would give more reason to actually try in a game instead of just run around afk.

Allow Pvp gear, the only reason i can think that they don't allow it is to allow new players to more easily adjust to it and not get stomped by geared players, but considering you can now get full ilvl 90 shortly after hitting 50, or even in some cases before you hit 50, i see no reason to not allow the endgame pvp gear.

Frontlines needs a bit of work, another pvp map would also help, but not until you can actually get players to play the original map in the first place.

As much as i hate to say it, they need to take a look at WoW's pvp structure and practically copy it. You're not going to make pvp popular catering to new players.

Actually Yoshi said he would consider one PVP server if enough people were interested in it. Someone even started a thread here for people to show their interest. I don't care about pvp, so if you want to find it you'll have to search yourself.

Already saw it. What better way to show interest, and to show that there are enough of us to fill a server, than by actually doing something (unifying on one server). While the thread was nice; actions speak louder than words.

Close! Like I said; my swap just made me think that a lot of people here that complain about times might benefit, and enjoy, switching to a server with other people. Like I said in my op (if you read it) I'm more than willing to pay another $18 to swap again if people prefer a different server.

Good idea. I think an organised english speaking pvp-linkshell or fc with active pvp exp bonus on a japanese cluster would be nice. Tonberry would be the best choice, because there are already the most english speaking players.

actualy i don't think player are not interested by pvp, but them don't do only pvp, the 30 minutes + queue don't help.
I just do my queue and do other stuff when i wait (daily quest, up a other job)
i would say you can get it by 30 minutes of queue, at some hours, but yeah you can't play pvp at night^^.
Also there is a problem for me : it's the GC vs GC vs GC, one GC may have a higher population, some switch because maelstrom win the most ? when i see how much victories i have in one week i would say it's not all the time the case, players should not switch for this^^
