Are CNJ's and WHM's now DD's?

I have recently been running lower level dungeons as a WAR to help him level BLM. As soon as the dungeon starts the CNJ/WHM pops Cleric Stance. When I ask them about it they said that they can heal just fine with Cleric Stance up. Which I know is not true because I have an i90 WHM and I never went through a dungeon with CS up. Now I'm starting to wonder if maybe I played WHM wrong because there are WHM that are in the dungeon that have way higher iLevels than I do. They say they are healing just fine with CS up even though I have to pop potions and my BLM friend spends half the battle healing because the CNJ/WHM are to busy DDing. I know SCH can heal and DD just fine. Is this just CNJ/WHM's being jealous and trying to prove they can do everything a SCH can do too? Or am I just playing WHM wrong?

No, they are not DDs. A WHM can supplement DPS in single-target situations, but it's not MP-efficient or flexible (as it is on a SCH) in the long run except on faceroll-content/farm content. However, AOE-wise WHMs do shine on gimmick speedruns (Holy), being able to outdps actual DDers for a while.

That being said, you know the WHM/CNJ is doing it wrong if the casters have to off-heal when the healer is too busy facerolling in Cleric Stance. Minmaxing DPS is fine, but if it comes at the cost of sucking at their primary job (ie. healing), they are doing it wrong.

While not as efficient in healing while going deeps as a SCH is I can still put out quality damage while maintaining party health at a reasonable spot

Divine seal for instance does wonders believe it or not. Pop DS+ a Regen on the tank and maybe even a SC+SS on him and youre good for a few Stone II's and a Aero and Aero II

A DS+ Medica II can hold over the party if the Tank can hold aggro and you dont have the tank fighting for agg.

The WHM also spike DMG better than the SCH so killing a mob faster with a WHM that way you can get back to healing or patching up the party is your best bet. I wouldn't say you are playing your class wrong but anytime after LVL 30 and up and your not pulling some damage out there is a problem with your play style.......

No, WHMs should not be healing while in cleric stance, ever. I do a lot of DD as WHM, but I turn cleric stance off when I have to heal, as all WHMs should.

Oh didn't read post thouroughly I didnt know they were healing while the stance was still up.

No that isnt good a SCH can't even pull of those types of heals without a lustrate stacked to six and even then would sometimes have to come out of stance especially if the party is taking damage Singel target maybe but aoe nope.

I have little to no issues running lower level dungeons with cleric stance on. Of course you have to know the exceptions and when to turn it off. Sometimes I hear crap about it but the real test is if someone is dying or some other role has to pick up the healing slack.

So yes it can be done. Just because you did not do it or could not do it does not mean they were "wrong". It also helps when you are high level running low lvl dungeon....my stats are much higher even with lvl sync than they ever were when I ran through those dungeons at that lower level(my gear was always behind). Even then though I would use CS when appropriate without having any issues.

No the OP is stating that the user is running the course of the dungeon with cleric stance on the whole time. Of course you can switch on and off like skilled players know how to do.

Ya I read what the OP said....and as I said I can run low level dungeons with cleric stance on without issue(ie not stance dancing). The exceptions are certain dungeons. That is very different from the normal back and forth CS that you are referring to.

Why do people never read tool tips t-t

Any healer should never be healing with clerics on, just turn it off to heal then back on to dps, I don't understand how some people think pressing a button is difficult...healing with the stance on can put the party at risk esp if a monster agros from another group or if the tank suddenly takes spike damage.

As a level 50 WHM, you can stay in CS and heal without reaching half MP in low level roulette dungeons up to Haukke Manor. Sometimes I even have to. Either I over heal the tank and end up tanking because one of my cures does a little more than half their health, or I have to wait until they are almost dead to heal them. It's much easier to stay in CS, cure, stone, cure, stone etc.

That's only if you're over geared. If you're level appropriate, not a good idea.
