Isn't teeth the plural of tooth? Hence 10 Shelfteeth and not 10 Shelftooth.
It's using the name in a plural fashion. It's in the same way that you wouldn't say "there are 10 goose on the fence," you'd say "there are 10 geese on the fence." It's not like it's confusing or wrong in any way since there isn't a mob named "Saspsa Shelfteeth" and it's correctly marked above it's head as a Book mob.
Kinda makes sense that it's in plural, I guess. They probably discussed this when they were developing the game and though that it was better to say "10 Shelfteeth", than "10 Shelftooth". Both of them are correct but I guess more people voted to put "Shelfteeth" instead LOL. Curious stuff, indeed.
It just confused me for a minute when I saw it since Sapsa Shelftooth is a proper name..
Considering that "Shelftooth" is a rank within the Sahagin forces and "Saspa" is simply the locator for where they are, it is proper to say it in plural form. As an example, you wouldn't say "There are 10 US general in my fleet." you would say "There are 10 US generals in my fleet."
I see your point now. I guess mods can close this thread then. Thanks for the quick replies!
Correct, just as the 2nd Cohort Signifer is listed as "Signiferi" in the books. They are a profession within the Garlean ranks such as modern military has "sapper" or "sniper" or medic" and therefore recognized with a proper noun, but the plural form remains entirely valid.
No problem. Glad I could give my opinion at least. Nothing to do while the maintenance is ongoing anyways LOL
