Batraal beat me? Impossible, outrageous, and fixable?

Is batraal broken? are classes broken?

No. People are just lazy.

Yes, here and now with this dungeon Archers are the most essential DoW. In these fights they are a perfect way of damage dealing with little or no healing. I understand that with a party setup of all Archers, Healers and a Tank is not always a cake walk, but there are perfectly good alternatives to winning. It's called organization, communication, and strategy.

Not to boast my linkshells achievements (Dipset!), but we have whooped this boss with limited time and 7 people.
GLA, CONx2, THM, LNC, MRD and ARC.

It can be done.

People should give a rest to complaining about balancing just because they haven't figured it out yet. If you can't stand the heat, get off the sun.

Have you ever heard about electricity? Electricity is great because it perfectly demonstrates the principle of always taking the path of least resistance. This principle can be applied to almost anything, including MMO players. Right now the path of all ranged attackers presents significantly less resistance than the path of melee DoWs, so people will naturally gravitate towards it whether it's absolutely essential or not. There is nothing odd about it. It is how a rational being is expected to behave.

People do have the power to control themselves.　As well as the want to play with friends. Not everyone has an archer. I'm just saying. I've seen many people get turned away from parties because of this existing problem. I'm posting to tell everyone that it can be eraticated without patched battle reform.

Your right that your line of thinking is the majorities of the online player's.

That said, you might call those people rational, but id have to disagree.
Copying and going the way of the least resistance might be like lightning however, electrodes arent rational are they?
Isnt what defines ratio that your able to think for yourself?

As the op mentions, there are quite a few ways to do that dungeon just fine even without a single archer.
Does it require people to think for themselves tho? Yes.

Personally ill be looking forward to doing that dungeon, as a none archer, and doing it without whats now described as essential and doing awesome all the same.
Ofc, unlike your believe quite a lot of people arent fools (or rational as you call them), and have already done such before i even decided to write this post. :p

Evolution is about adapting to the environment. The environment is melee hostile, so strategies have evolved to utilize ranged combat.

Rationality means doing what makes sense. It does not make sense to make something more difficult than is necessary. Here's an example: You have the opportunity to buy the same car for $5000 or for $4000. It is rational to take the $4000 deal but you can pay $5000 and still end up with the car.

This is irrelevant. What my OP is getting at is that rather than discriminating friends and players based on class, any DD should be able to enter and complete the dungeon.

SE shouldnt tell us that melees can do the boss-battles, we all know it...
they should change the mobs abilities, something that gives troubles to ranged classes too....its not so difficult IMO

problem solved.

Now with this new update there are 2 options

1- the melees does so much dmg that the mp\healing\enmity problems will be overtoped (unlikely)
2- the melees will do a bit more dmg so the "less resistance path" will remain the old one.
