[dev1124] - Was this true for the existing helmet display?

I read this one a few minutes ago, and was wondering if the one to hide the helmet we received previously operated the same way, or if even though we were hiding our head gear, it was still visible to others?

Speaking to this item directly, what would be the reason for implementing it this way (vs hiding your equipment in passive mode to everyone)?

We're able to turn off the helmets? I must have missed that one. What's the command/where in the menu is that option?

it's not in the menu - i believe it's /display head off and /display head on ... when the patch came out there was no in-between period, it was released and it was invisible to everyone.

I wonder why they aren't following suit with the new mechanic? I suppose I could understand it if there was PvP in the game, but if I'm just standing around loitering somewhere, and decided I didn't want to see the Conjurer's stick floating behind me?

Conversely, the argument could be made as to why I would care if other people could see it, so long as I didn't, but that seems backwards to me. I should look to everyone as I choose to look to myself. If everyone is going to see that Conjurer's stick, there's really no reason for me to hide it?

Much like the helmet. If the answer was that it truly "wasn't" hidden, I'd turn it back on, and change some of my equip macros to ensure I was taking it off when I wasn't out on a guildleve or other activity where I felt I needed the extra stats from the lid.

I guess knowing that the helmet works in a more 'traditional' way (hide to self and everyone), I'm curious as to why they didn't do it with the class tools in passive mode?

They said it was going to be implemented fully on the 1.19 (hide to self and everyone) for the weapons. So it's all a matter of time.

Its easier for them to implement if they make it to not display your weaopn or tool on the client side only, and there has been so much demand for the feature since swimsuits were announced, so its just a quick fix because the community wanted it so bad.

The final fix will be done in 1.19 after the demand for the feature has been satisfied.

Ah thanks. I guess I didn't understand that part of it.
