Character Frozen in Place

This may be my very first post in the Technical Support section...

I am on the Excalibur (Legacy) server, using my character, "Nikori Periyaha." While I was doing my Ixali daily beast tribe quests, particularly the quest "Getting into Gear," I defeated my first Qiqirn rat at The North Shroud, Proud Creek, coordinates "23x, 20y." Immediately after I defeated the enemy, my character was frozen in place and would not walk or run. When I tried to do an action, it told me I could not do anything since I was still involved in an event (not exact wording). This happened around 12:20 P.M. CST. It said the same thing when trying to teleport as well as trying to log out of the game. I was trying to get my character to move for at least 3 whole minutes until I gave up and had to exit the client and restart... then it worked. There was no lag prior to this event, and my roommate who uses the same internet connection as I do did not experience any lag, either... even during when this happened to me.

Some additional information about my situation: I had my chocobo companion out, as well as my garuda egi on my Summoner Job, and my character was standing at the north end on a raised stone platform by the rock wall, in-between the roots hanging on the rock wall. This extra information may not be needed, but I'm trying to cover all of my bases, lol.
