It's a shame they will never ask us again ingame.
Looking at some of these stats is hillarious, because the developers might think people actually use the potions they get showered upon them from quests as it's the #1 item in inventories. I'm sure the 428billion gill is also related to how the developers think we are all rich.
I like how wanderers palace is #1 run dungeon by almost double 2nd place... got to love those RMT farm groups
Suggests they actually did a proper job working out how much Gil players have actually; 428 billion divided among 2 million players is a pathetic amount. For him to have been surprised some people only have 300 thousand suggests the numbers he saw were based off of proper statistics.
unless he did it the way I think which would be divide total gil on active accounts across the ACTIVE accounts (2m registered does not mean 2M are active) in which case RMT bank characters and outlying statistics would be included
300B/500k is a lot better than 400B/2M (random numbers used please no crucifixions)
That still isn't a particularly staggering amount of Gil per player, though.
At the end of the day, they've made a game which literally throws Gil at it's players (Duty Roulette, Challenge Log, etc.). They have every right to think players should be rich, if you're not you're either new or doing something wrong, or just purchases some land. Either way, the poor are in the minority, no matter how vocal they may be at the moment.
While you are correct 300B/500K is still only 600k gil per active character (outliers as you mention would inflate this as well, driving the mean down). I wouldn't say that is "a lot better" given the level of what I read to be his surprise.
Lol at them "having the right" to think something when the have data to show what it actually is. It is this kind of "thinking" by companies that lead to their downfall and failure. Just because someone has the right to assume something doesn't mean that doing so is the right course of action.
They should give us more information about the gil per player. really want to know more about it, since they used the stats for housing prices... so how wealthy is the average character? how many players are out there with more than 50 mio gil? how many active subscribers does ffxiv have?
oh some more questions: how many (active) chars on each server? how much gil on each server?
More Japanese players want to play catgirls than NA/EU players.
That's...not unexpected.
Also I'm wondering if they had the trial usage statistics in mind when they designed the Nexus progression, because in recent days i'm seeing a complete 180 in the attitudes towards Cape Westwind and the like.
Define "active char"Quote:
oh some more questions: how many (active) chars on each server? how much gil on each server?
Now ask someone else to define "active char."
There's your problem: there's no real agreement.
An active account is easy to spot, but due to alts and the nature of FFXIV, an active character is much more difficult to determine in some cases, and the stats are almost meaningless since the primary use for alts is for mules.
Will there be an english version? If so I'll look forward to it.
