Benediction and PvP

Forgive me if a thread like this already exists.


This thread, is more of a request for SE to look into the benediction animation. Especially during PvP.

I've lost count, the amount times this ability could have saved myself or another team members life. But rather than go off instantly, the twirly animation has to play beforehand normally causing my death or its completely wasted on someone else, as they die but the ability still goes off wasting it because of the animation having to be played first.

Sometimes it can be bad timing. But 9/10 it's due to the animation taking too long, thus wasting my CD and normally resulting in death.

It's just a humble request that it be slightly retweaked, so that when its used the HP restore takes priority over the animation. I don't mind doing my stupid little jiggle. Just please let it top off whoever I have targeted first.

Anybody else notice this?

The Benediction as well as the Hallowed Ground delay have been well known for months, I don't think SE is going to / is able to fix it.

SE isnt getting rid of it. its part of their stupid design. In addition to Benediction and Hallowed Ground being affected, it also affects pvp skills, Equanimity and Attunement ... so pretty much any ability that is designed to save your ass in an "oshit" moment, you will just die in your animation, because SE cares more about eye candy than performance and efficiency. the end result is you looking good while dying. i can't count on the times on both my hands that i have hit Attunement and the damn thing went on cd AFTER i had already been lying dead on the ground for 2 seconds.

all you can do is not wait til the last second to cast them; cast them early. but unfortunately casting them early could also mean you could have saved it in case your target got healed up by someone else. this game's software engine was definitely made with only pve in mind and not for fast-paced pvp. its a slow reacting game in a fast paced environment which the end result is you dead but your skill goes on cd.

I know, right? I hate when that happens! Wasted Benediction so many times. It's unlikely, but I really do hope SE changes this (for the better). Knowing them, they'll see this thread and we'll have Benediction removed from PvP next patch lol.

This is sooooooooooo true... and I had to figure that out when I first started pvping in the Den after release lol

I agree with everything posted above.

Such a pain in the ass. I forgot about HG so apologies for not having that in my first post.

I/We aren't asking for the abilities themselves to be changed. Just the silly animations that HAVE to play first.

Yeah if Benediction gets fixed I want HG to be fixed. It's usually a waste cause you pop it earlier than you should and maybe didn't need to or you wait too long and it goes on CD but the effect doesn't happen. I hope it does get fixed.
