As is the case with most DPS classes, unless you are really hurting for the Accuracy, your best bet is to put all of your melds into Critical Hit Rate and Determination. Specifically you want 44 Crit and 31 Det. This will mean that your Novus will be comparable to the High Allagan Bow due to the fact that the High Allagan Bow does not have Critical Hit Rate as one of it's stats, and because the Novus will have 1 less Det than the High Allagan Bow. The main difference between the two bows will be in base damage, Dexterity, and Vitality over all the other stats.
Also you actually can't meld Dexterity as one of the stats on the Novus Weapon as it has a baseline of 42 Dexterity no matter what you do. Same goes for Vitality, it will always have 49 Vitality regardless of melds. The only stats that you can actually (or would want to) modify on the Novus are Accuracy, Critical Hit Rate, Determination, or Skill Speed.
Anyone who suggests modifying Piety, really doesn't understand how the Bard actually works. We have no need of additional piety.

tyvm for the info and the reply :3 much appreciated
what does determination do in regards to battles please?? would it be a bad build to go accuracy + crit leaning higher to the accuracy side of things like for example 40 acc, 35 crit or isnt that a good idea?
im not really sure what my accuracy is since im still working on gettin my sol tome set havent touched CT/ST/ coil til im better equipped n studied guides,
once again tyvm for the info :3
edit - just googled determination and this is what i found -> Determination is an attribute that increases the amount of damage dealt by all attacks including auto-attacks, weaponskills and spells. It also increases the amount of HP recovered by spells. so guessin determination is a MUST have for novus correct?

Ok just to correct stuff, Novus will never be equal to High Allagan. HA will always be superior. Novus is still a very good weapon. It's better than Rosebogen by a little bit depending on the stats of your novus
Now for your novus, yes it's BEST to pump everything to crit and det but you'll have to pay up for it. You novus will probably end up costing you 6-8mil(if you're lucky).
I suggest doing something like 30 crit, 30 det 15 accuracy(that will only cost you around 2-3m). you'll also see how flexible you'll be with your gears if you have that 15 accuracy. BUT if you have the money and you're willing to spend it then 33/44 is the way to go.
here's a build for starters(assuming you have 0 experience in SCOB or you're broke like me and unlucky with coil:

here's a pretty optimal build if you have money and experience with SCOB

your optimal BiS(not counting ilvl 90 crafted acc):

Claire, I never said that the Novus would be equal to the High Allagan weapon. I said it would be comparable to it. There is a difference between the words "Comparable" and "Equal" after all. That said, while the Novus may never be equal to the High Allagan weapon, the Relic Weapon Quest Chain will eventually give us item level 115 weapons. At which point the Relic Weapon most certainly will be equal to the High Allagan weapons as a whole. Further compounding the issue is that eventually the Relic Weapon will exceed the item level 115 rating, at which time it will be BETTER than the High Allagan weapons, largely invalidating the High Allagan weapons as a whole. Overall the Novus Weapons are the Best In Slot Weapons as far as longevity issues are concerned.
Spawnie, Determination is essentially the stat that modifies the amount of damage that all attacks do, including Auto-Attacks, Weaponskills, and spells. It also increases the HP recovered by spells. This stat is the third largest determining factor in how much overall damage you do with a standard non-critical attack. The other two largest factors is the Weapons actual Base Damage, and your Jobs Primary Stat (Dexterity in the case of Bards).
Accuracy for the Bard has a max cap of 491 for the most difficult of content prior to tonight's update. Which means that you want to get to as close to that cap without going to significantly over the cap when you are getting your stats together. This is why using Accuracy on your weapons may not be the best idea since weapons tend to have a veritable crap ton of accuracy on them which makes allocating the rest of your gear as a Bard very difficult as a large chunk of Bard gear ALSO has accuracy on it.

yeah the determination mention confused me abits since ever since i started bard ( in closed beta) most players always said dex was most important XD but tyvm both of you for the info i have somethin to work on n aim 2wards nows :3

You can also spirit bond gear and hopefully get some tier 3 and 4 materias. If you can make i70 gear it will be easy for you if not you can buy a full set for 300 to 500,000 Gil. It takes longer than buying the tier 3&4s but is way cheaper. If you have friends or FC mates to help out, all the better. You can find parties looking to SB so it doesn't take long to get a set to 100% , but even solo it doesn't take very long.

oh, and lookey at that, tonight's update introduces the Nexus Weapons. These weapons are the Item Level 115 Relic Weapons, and as such are in fact EQUAL to the High Allagan Weapons. Who'd of thunk it. :P

TRUST MEEEEE
Use crit and det until it asks u to use grade 4 materia, then put the rest in speed or acc.
33 crit 19 acc(or sksp) 23 det I think are end stats.
It's so freakking nearly as good as full crit/det....but u save about 15-20m xD Honestly, unless ur seriously rich, don't break ur back for less than 1% dmg boost.
Yes you can sb 8D But I SBed for weeks and got no savage grade 4, rng is rng.
