Playing with Wife

Hello,

I am interested in playing this game cooperatively with my wife. For example, we'd like to basically always play together and level up together if that's possible.

I haven't really gotten a clear answer, but can you play together as a party and play the game as a duo without any problems?

There are a handful of events you are required to do solo but for the majority of the game you can team up and the game will just find you the other 2-6 people needed for dungeon content. In the open world there is very little that requires solo play. I think grand company battle leves require being solo as do certain storyline events.

I started up another character to only play with my husband. He tanks and I heal and it is a ton of fun.

You will need 2 copies of the game and 2 accounts. Start on the same server and if possible choose classes to start with that originate in the same main city.

Yes o3o. Alot of FC mates of mine are both husband and wife and are able to play together.

There are a few quests (most of your class/job quests and a few main storyline quests) that include a solo-only instance, but those are short, few and far between. Otherwise you can group with her through everything. In dungeons, you'll need additional people to also join your group, as those are for four or eight players.

In order to group together for the first 15 levels, however, you should pick starting classes that begin in the same city. (You can change classes later if you want something else.)
Archer, Lancer, and Conjurer start in Gridania. Gladiator, Pugilist, and Thaumaturge start in Ul'dah. Arcanist and Marauder start in Limsa Lominsa.

You should also setup one paid account first then use a friend referral code from the first account to setup the second, then you get some nice bonuses.

It's highly possible, my wife and I play together all the time, you can run dungeons, leves and all manner of content together, play complementary classes I tank, she heals, or gather for the other while they craft, that kind of thing. It's easy to play together and help each other.
