I'm not saying to trash surnames, but give us an option to only show given names.

Showing both given and surnames clutters the screen, IMO.

Just imagine when you come across several peeps with the same given name.

no, I like my chars full name. Just 'Molly' is too boring.

I've actually been trying to get all modern MMOs to use surnames in addition to given names. Really ups the variables to get a name you want and adds to immersion (I'm a Roleplayer). Would be sad to take a step back in that regard with FFXIV.

Anything without xxxSephirothxxx or XxSephir0thxX is fine. Even NPC said so.
