"Marriage" System Question & Concern

So I have been googling to try to find out the answer to this question but clearly I haven't been very successful in finding it. Either I'm just a derpface and look in the wrong places or I just skimmed over it. :p

Awhile back someone posted that you'll have to apply online to "marry" on FF14. Someone then posted that FF11 had the same application process and that when s/he applied for marriage it took a year to be accepted.

Will it take a year or more to be accepted in FF14 too?

At this point, no one knows, SE is keeping us in the dark about exactly WHAT the bonding ceremony will entail and require us to do. I assume more information will come as we get closer to the system being implemented.

Like Ilitsa said, we know next to nothing about the marriage system. SE has said very little on the subject

You'll need to have novus for all classes, down t9 savage at least 10 times, be a three star crafter everything, and down all ex mode primals 50 times in one week and then you can apply for marriage with your beloved :D

On a serious note: rumor has it that marriage system will be with patch 2.4 I'd expect some info about it soon once 2.38 is out.

You forgot to mention that after you apply, you have to deal with the lovely RNG to be selected. You have to pay a 1 million gil non-refundable fee which does not guarantee you a wedding. This fee must be paid every time.

Early on in FFXI they had actual GMs conduct the weddings which resulted in a long wait. Later on they stopped that service and put in npcs to be in charge of weddings is in selling wedding items, rings, outfits. I think they probably won't have GMs host weddings in 14. When you sign up on the site you probably get the stuff mailed to you or it activates a wedding quest on your account.
