Which server?

Hello Guys,

I'm currently based in Hong Kong but decided to join the NA servers because of the language barrier if I join the Japan server.

I was wondering which server besides that two servers that don't accept new characters should I join? I want the highest population.

Brynhildr seems to be getting more and more people, and while i may be biased i still believe Leviathan to be one of the more populated servers.

Diabolos is decently populated. Lots of diversity in the crowd. Like every server we have our fair share of elitests, baddies, and nice helpful people.

Hyperion is pretty populated. It is a Legacy server though.

Mateus seems to have a decent community and the population is good.

Keep in mind the time difference influencing the various servers. I'd look for one with a high English speaking population with peak hours when you are online. Otherwise you may find yourself with groups of people who raid or hold events at 4 am your time.

'Legacy' means it was a server from the original version of FFXIV (version 1.0) which A Realm Reborn replaces. All 1.0 players got to keep our characters into ARR, however we were initially limited to only playing on a 1.0 server. Hence why these servers are denoted as 'Legacy' servers.

Although Legacy servers are marked as such on the server selection screen, you can also tell a Legacy server as they all have the names of famous weapons from older FF games (like my server's name, Ridill, is the name of a powerful knife from FFXI ;)).

You're more likely to see a wide cross section of different players (both players from 1.0 and new players just joined in ARR) than on 'ARR' servers, and hence Legacy servers generally have a lot more players doing end game stuff, but that doesn't mean new people are shunned. It just means there's bound to be a lot more players on those servers with 'shinies' and less trouble with undesirables like RMT.
