Squire - melee dps class (swords/rapiers)
Focuses on slashing attacks to inflict damage
Has small healing capabilities
Fencer - mitigation tank (2 rapiers)
Focuses on parries and dodges to block incoming damage
Certain combos will gaureentee parries or decreased damage
Able to bind and knock back enemy for small amounts of time
Uses TP to combo and MP for parries and dodge end combo moves
Red Mage - melee magic dps
Focuses on enchanting weapon (rapier) with elements
Positional slashing attacks to inflict damage
Think astral fire debuffs on enemy to increase damage
Uses MP to inflict debuffs and TP to chain massive damage combos

As much as I would love to see dual Jobs off a single Base Class, it's probably not going to happen again short of a revamp from an expansion. That being said, I do like the idea of Fencer-> Red Mage as long as the get the right spirit of the Red Mage as a Hybrid Jack and not as a buff/debuff caster.
The problem with designing a Hybrid Jack in an MMO is that they can't really be a Hybrid Jack. MMOs can't have a spot filled by a class that does average dps, hps, and has average survivability in a healing or dps slot. Short of adding a fifth "Support" slot that they could be in, then we have to do a little kit-rigging in order for them to succeed.
