Healing Horrors: During the Hunt

Hunting is hard enough with groups that pull early or kill a mark and don't even mention it to the other groups searching. But what happened to me around 6:18AM CST on 9/7/14 has the rest beat. I was in a full party and Garlok had spawned and people were waiting in front of it. We needed another healer so I volunteered. I'm there for the entire fight, from start to finish, and spammed Medica II, rezed party members, and got hit by the garlok and inflicted with the burn status ailment. It died. I see a whole bunch of people getting achievements, and then to my horror, I see that I got absolutely no credit. ZERO. Apparently with how the hunts were designed, a healer could be present the whole fight and doing their job, and get nothing for it. How is that fair? SE you should take into consideration Healers might not have time to hit the hunt if they are busy trying to keep their party alive :( If any other healers feel the same or have experienced this problem, don't be afraid to speak up.

It is a problem. Here's the solution.

Use Aero (or any other attack skill) once.

There recently has been a delay with the rewards. Whether you attack it or not, you may not immediately get the rewards. We have had this happen recently for my FC. It usually occurs when we have way too many people on one hunt. If you wait a few minutes, it should show up. A lot of people will walk away, complain and won't even realize it later that they did indeed get the rewards.

Otherwise if you really didn't get anything, you should make a detailed report.

Listen to Elurra. You must do something to the hunt mob. Toss an Aero at the beginning then spam dat Cure3 and get full credit.

Wait, you spammed Medica II? Bad idea. Medica II has a lower potential potency than Medica. Toss out a MedII to start the tick then stick with Cure3 (if you can stand close to 2+ people) or Medica (if people are spread out). Cure3 with 3+ other people getting healed ensures your whole group full credit even if they only hit the mob once, and turns you into a pretty impressive WHMtank ;D
