Changing from "Standard" sub to "Entry" sub

I hope this is a reasonable place to ask about this. I wanted to employ a 3rd retainer, and to offset the cost I was considering downgrading my subscription from Standard (8 characters per world, max 40) to Entry (1 character per world, max 8). I have one main and one alt character both on Sargatanas. My concern is that if I changed to Entry sub, what determines which of the characters on Sarg would remain the active character.

If I could get an official answer or advice from someone else who knows for certain, I'd be grateful. Thank you for reading.

I believe it's the earliest created character that is the one that is kept active. The one at the top of your list. But don't take my word for it, I'm sure others will chime in.

I've been wondering about this as well. Hopefully someone knows for certain.

I can't test it myself how it is in ARR, but if you wanted to deactivate a character slot during 1.x you had the choice which one it should be.

Eh, that's very poor if it defaults to an older one (I have another legacy alt I don't use because I messed up renaming during ARR)... I assume the name at the top of your DC login list would be the oldest.
