Any love for ATMAs?
I think I am one of the few who actually liked the ATMA quest.
I met some new friends, visited areas I had completely missed before, and did some FATEs that I didn't even know existed.
It never felt "grindy" to me. Maybe that's just from playing other FFs idk.
In total it probably took me about two weeks with running a few fates a night. If I was finding my luck was sort of low, I'd quit them and come back later.
My one complaint would be farming Lower La Noscea...ugh so large.
Any others who enjoyed it?

As you said I liked some parts of it, I also enjoyed discovering new fates and actually appreciating the surroundings. Also met some nice peeps, some bad ones. But when you are at your last atma and spend countless hours in one zone, it gets old quite quickly. My last atma was in Central Shroud and I think I put in a good 50-70 hours, on and off on it, 2-3 hours a day or so. A friend is still doing his and when did it start lol
So yea, enjoyed parts of the experience, the actual RNG grind, not so much.

I am with you my little Lala friend.
I have 9/12 now and I am having a great time. You're right about the meeting new people to, I have met a lot of people on my quest for atma. And yes coming from oldschool rpgs this game not as grindy as it could be.
Kids these days want everything right away, I myself am just looking to pass the time doing something I enjoy, playing an awesome game.

I enjoy it, working on my first Atma weapon still, but I like it. I'm working on my second atma set as well, 7/12~! Haven't decided what I am going to put it towards yet, though. :D

I found Atma to be the worst part of the relic quest line thus far because of the lack of certainty with how much time was to be spent in an area. (And the fact that some maps are just really freaking huge)
Btw, "Atma" isn't an acronym.

I love Atmas, it generated a large amount of entertaining QQ thread half which got deleted after awhile.

I farmed Atmas again recently to prepare for 2.4. Now that I am done again...I feel bored. I might have to farm another set.

I like it because it offers some long-term reward that is not mandatory to get, but would be nice to have if I ever bother to get it. Just something to do on the side or maybe get as a bonus reward for something else. example, I've gotten 3 Atma from just doing daily Hunts. I've gone through the normal grind for my first Atma relic, didn't rush that at all, and still look at the grind fondly. It's one of the last true "OMFG YES!" type of feelings in getting your reward. The sort of thing that you can brag to other people about and legitimately claim that...

i have no love for atma. i have 700+ fates, with 2 atma. now tell me how thats "wanting everything right away".
some people arent as lucky as the OP who got a set in 2 weeks.

Nope.
Nopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenopenope!
To put this in perspective: the ONLY reason I have not started working on a second Relic weapon is because I absolutely do NOT want to do the Atma phase again until it is nerfed in some way, form, or fashion. In the meantime I will make do with an i110 UAT weapon.
There is absolutely nothing about the activity that is intrinsically entertaining or social. You can make friends or appreciate the scenery doing basically any other activity in the game and it'll be less boring and monotonous besides. I don't even know how anyone can possibly find any entertainment out of running those awful level 10 FATEs where you can't even use more than three abilities in the first place. How does your mind not go numb from this?
In comparison, the Animus books at least gave me measurable and very consistent progress (aside from, yep, the FATEs section, which is just as bad with the hours of waiting), and Novus lets me do basically whatever the hell I want as long as it generates Myth tomestones. I can actually stand those phases and find some level of entertainment out of them, but no such luck with Atma.
Oh yeah, and don't even forget about the fact that your entire 'reward' consists of a color change and unlocking the right to work on Animus! Talk about adding insult to injury... I fear the next phase released on 2.38 is going to be just as bad, and if it ends up that way... ugh, I don't even know how I could express my distaste at the idea without being banned for it.
