What is the reason you and will continue to, PvP in FFXIV? I'm just curious as to what gives other people their own incentives to do so.
Me? Well aside from me maining PvP in just about every other MMO/Game, to put it short:
The unpredictability and excitement I get from playing against other (real) people far beats any dungeon, boss, loot, story, quest, in PvE.
mainly for farming pvp gears..
Unscripted and far more satisfying. I usually run with FC mates also so additional fun comes from coordinating.
Honestly, this is the first MMO I have actually enjoyed pvp on. I started doing it for the i100 gear, now I do it for the challenge. Love going as SCH, see how long I can last.

Simple, PvP is one way to test your skill as a player of that certain class.
Unlike dungeons or coils, where you just need to familiarize the mechanics in order to beat the boss.
In PvP, you would'nt know what will that player do next where you will find yourself to come-up of a strategy in an instant to beat that other player. Killing Dun/coil boss is just like attacking striking dummy.
