PvP: A Contest of Gladiators!

Let's be Real
There are those who want PvP content, there are those who could care less, and there are those who argue that it causes major balancing issues. As of right now we have a certain guild in Ul'dah that has warriors clashing blades all the time. Now this might piss some people off, but I suggest that the Gladiator's arena, for now be strictly used for Gladiators. In this way, you would not have to re-balance the classes, because everyone would be using the same job, just different strategies for victory. This will settle those who are in favor of PvP content, as well as keep those who use class balance as an argument from from having any type of complaint-the best of both worlds.

I'd have to disagree on the Idea, Like what others said plus in a quest, the NPC J'moldova was once called The Phoenix in the coliseum and He's a Lancer. Besides, it doesn't make it any easier. It "has" been discussed at the Forum and most people agreed on having different modes for PvP and PvE so it doesn't affect each other the slightest bit. Search/Check for more Details.

Class exclusive content is bad if you don't provide something for the other classes as well.

Being a gladiator myself you'd think I'd agree with the OP, but sadly I don't. Even as one of the people who fall into "I want PvP because when I run out of things to do sparring my fellow players is always fun" category, I'd much rather see the combat system and all other fundamental aspects of the games adjusted to tip top shape before PvP is introduced.

And as far as class balancing, as long as the classes are adequately balanced for group PvE, no real changes will be necessary for PvP. Some classes will always have an advantage over others, otherwise there would be no need for different classes in the first place :P Its just a skillful game of rock paper scissors. If two parties of equal rank and class distribution clashed on the battlefield, it would come down to skill, strategy, and gear which is exactly how I personally think it should shake down.

On this combat sytem ? Nah!

I could see mini game style PvP.
Gla Vs Gla in an areana.
Arch Vs Arch in a arrow shooting range.
Lnc Vs Lnc in a skewer body parts fast game.
Pug Vs Pus who can hit hardest.

I can't be bothered thinking of any more lol
They would all take place in the Guilds of course ^^

That would be nice, a Specific Class Battle, I'd agree on that with the addition of Freestyle PvP, Team PvP, Duel, Tournament, Round Robin, etc. :P
