Chocobo Colors Not Changing.

My boyfriend got the alert that his feathers would be growing new ones for his chocobo, I can verify he did it correctly because I have a snow white one already, he was just trying to finish his change to red. So basically, it just ate all of his fruits, said the feathers were growing new, plumage would change in 45 minutes.. We went to bed, figured it would be okay when we got up, and suddenly she no longer had a cutscene nor changed colors? Dunno if this is a glitch or working as intended, but it's pretty frustrating for someone like him with bare minimal time :(
