Duty Finder/Party Matching Improvements?

please for the love of god improve the party match-making.


really, the improvements only need to be made to places like Crystal Tower and Syrcus Tower. and maybe even 8-man content too. the party needs serious evaluation. is very hard to get gear when the entire group is the same.

i played the other night and 3 times in a row i got put in a group with almost nothing but casters. the 1st time ALL 5 damage roles were casters. the other two times 4/5 were casters. is not fun rolling against that many other people.

why couldn't the party making thingy make us into better groups? the other Alliances had Jobs that could have been swapped out for a caster. like one alliance had 3 BRD's. yet the other two not a single one. while party composition isn't very important. and you can win with whatever. it still doesn't make sense.




also it would be nice to see you set class/job restrictions for every lv50+ instance. a restriction so people must come in as a Job and not just a Class. i've seen it a few-or-so times now. and these players are making little to no contribution to the fights. pretty much leeching.

Duty finder already has mechanisms in place to create properly mixed parties, however it does nothing if the party is premade.

What the OP is saying is it would be better if it would mix up DPS so there is both melee and ranged, instead of just saying "Yep, you're a DPS" and tossing them in. I tend to agree with the idea.

It already does do that.

No, no it doesn't. I've had DF parties that were a Warrior, a Scholar, and two Summoners. Three of the four people in the party had the same base class.

It preferences placing ranged with melee, and vice versa, but if all you've got queing is ranged and mage dps then thats all you'll get.

i don't queue with a pre-made. though it is possible the other alliance's or people in my own alliance were queued up with a pre-made. either way, the system needs a huge improvement.

it just seems there most certainly is room for improvement. now i am not trying to be fussy about it. and most certainly don't want to screw up the queue times. lol. it just doesn't seem like it would have been complicated to give Alliance B one of those BRD players. ah well. i don't know :/

If the distinction it's trying to make is melee/ranged rather than DoW/DoM, it couldn't get a good split here because there was only a single melee DPS character between all three of the groups.

The problem is that BRD belongs in one category when talking about mechanics (since they fight more like a SMN or BLM) but a different category when looking at loot distribution (since their gear is more like a MNK or DRG).
