Big summer here for FFXIV. We are all excited..
I, for one, am enjoying the game very much. The dungeons are really cool and Batraal is one fun fight...
1.19, as far as I know (And I am going from memory on this one) should include
Battle adjustments to compliment 1.18's battle redesign.
Including: Active/passive animations, changes to attack animations, possibly new weaponskill animations. Class balancing (that will probably always be ongoing for the entire run of the game)
Beast strongholds to accompany beast encampments
Chocobos and airships
Complete reworking of recipes (those are Yoshi P's words from letter XII)
Company quests that extend past "recruit" status
Iffrit battle which could possibly be a part of new main scenario quests (fingers crossed)
There are more tasks that will come but we haven't been told (as far as I know) whether they will be 1.19 (end of August) or 1.20 (Shooting for end of September)
Removal of physical level (I wanna say this was slated for 1.19, can anyone confirm?)
Redistribution of MOBs and diversification of MOB types. the main goal, from what I saw, is to accommodate party based leveling camps. It was also said that they wanted to redistribute more beast MOBs all over Eorzea but that could have been referring to the encampments... Who knows.
Materia? (Confirmation needed but I swore I heard this was coming with the recipe rework... could definitely be wrong though)
Stealth added to DoL classes
Obviously new quests... balancing and tweaking classes.. possibly new gear when you company quests become available
Jobs.... I remember seeing jobs promised AFTER 1.20 but a buddy of mine was saying they were promised IN 1.20
Lastly.. the UI tweaks are always ongoing, claiming multiple MOBs... more linked MOB groups
Thats what I know for sure will be coming soon.... (except Jobs which I am unsure about)
this thread has 2 purposes though...
1. to lay out what is coming in 1 place and if at all possible, when it will be here
2. To find out what is most important to US as players once all of this is done
So many topics have been responded to with "We will handle that once the battle system is overhauled" or "We have bigger priorities right now"
Well that time is rapidly approaching
Keeping in mind that content like dungeons, NMs and new quests will always be a high priority and will ALWAYS be in development...

Jobs around 1.20 is just "accessing implementation of jobs" so we probably won't get jobs at this rate in 1.20, people like to half read the lodestone, so i can understand why he said jobs would be in 1.20, you tell him to go re-read that. Plus at this rate we will have a 1.18a, b, and c, before we even get 1.19. 1.20 is so far away I don't even know if i can look beyond it, till we at least get 1.19. Just due to the delays it took to get 1.18, 1.20 was marked for end of summer, and I'm not sure we can make it on time, since 1.18 came out so late.

1.18 was delayed by a month...and with the way things are going, 1.19 probably won't be until September...then 1.20, if everything goes well, will be, at the earliest, in October..

Thats my point though... SE was well aware of the delay when they confirmed that 1.20 was end of september... I could see early October though. But I don't see it being much later than thatQuote:

Some ideas I made the other day on what jobs should be like, as this is probably my no1 concern for the game, and honestly should be the same for ANYONE, as they will define your class, from Land to Hand to War to Magic.
So its the utmost importance to me anyway to make sure they are fleshed out, balanced, and each offer an unique style of play in a party setting, but keeping in mind: not over powered. As far as all the other stuff go, housing is something they said they were looking into and should be considered for the time being to be implemented post-1.20 -

I would love a delivery box to send items to players and retainers. Also maybe an email/mail system in game. Also full Linkshell system, with calendar system, full admin controls etc.

The thing to keep in mind is that, while 1.18 was delayed, the content intended to be in by the end of summer -- whether it all be in 1.19 or some of it is split into 1.20 -- is that it's been worked on independently of any delayed material.
My go to example is chocobos. In the tenth letter from the producer, a "Mount system (including chocobos)" was being assessed, and nothing more. Then two months later, we got info that rental chocobos were a certainty for 1.19.
Until Yoshi-P gives us the 1.19-focused letter from the producer, there's no telling how far along anything is. Hopefully that letter comes next week.
