I see I can get ilevel 90 items with myth tomes. Is that what I should be focusing on right now? I have no interest in vanity or things of that nature. Are dungeon drops even that important or will Myth and then Solidarity tomes > pretty much all the stuff I can do right now?
Dont go into dungeons under geared.
If you're just starting, at least get a few i60 pieces from WP and AK. (this is a good testing ground for your skills.)
Between doing that, you can do hunts and roulette for better myth and allied seals for 90 gear to supplement.
a hand full of 90 pieces should have you ready to do some of the harder dungeons.
After patch 2.35 the answer is - do your daily hunt bills and weekly one. You will need a little more than 1 week to get allied seals for full i90 gear complect. Additionally buy for gil crafted HQ i70 weapon. You will be ~i85 after it. Then you can do relic weapon quest. It can be done fast - one weekend is enough.
In parallel you should work on unlocking expert roulette, main quest roulette and syrcus tower.
You will need 900 myth for relic->zeinith upgrade and become full i90. You can get it from these duties or hunts.
Ps there is no need to form full compect for expert roulette, hunts, etc. Start do it after reaching i70 for example.
And one more recommendation (i don't know how much gil do you have) - check prices for crafted i70 weapon and weapon+materia needed for relic quest. If you haven't enough gil - buy weapon and materia for relic quest.

Try to complete your relic weapon ASAP. Your weapon is your most important gear upgrade for all jobs and getting an i90 weapon is a significant power boost that will make doing anything else a lot easier.
