Decrease the Gear options.

I guess the title of this thread is totally wrong.

It should have been "Increase the loot options".

I'd just rather seem more separation between loot sets. When raiding, as a MRD we shouldnt be competing against an ARC or PUG for the same gear in the main body slots ie: Body, Legs, Feet, Hands, Helm...... imo.

Please add more gear sets and separate the main gear slots by logical classes a little better in the future.

Id love a better split on gear so people look different, even if its just a dye options (pokes at devs hard) to let us make the gear our own.
But we have very few gear options anyway, so hell no to even less.. :P

I think Archer's more get take as they can be an easy class to play an are less likely to die in some respects.
More of the melee players seem unable to adapt to moving and avoiding aoe, using a ranged weapon to build tp, running out from a mob to heal them self and not just standing in one spot pounding on the mob from what I've seen.
(that might sound harsh but this is the 1st time people have really had to start to think since launch and its still not a massive challenge atm.)
Those who can are putting out very nice DPS, but i would agree archer is a very strong dps class atm not sure i agree they are OP'd just strong.

I don't agree archers aren't Op, Also most gear from other jobs isn't all that good when you add in the fact that the stats are decreased for anyone outside the optimal jobs. Imo i haven't seen anything that was actually worth it after the stat decrease.

Seriously, you guys think that the Archer (and Pug) should be wearing Plate and Mail armour?

Its seems completely illogical that they should be using as high defence gear as classes that are supposed to be front lines.

The root of the problem is that S.E. has got lazy and not created multiple sets of raid gear in some slots, instead just putting one set for melee/range.

I find it frustrating and illogical.

I'm just saying it doesnt matter because if they wear the gear and arc is not the optimal class then most of the time the gear is actually worse than normal arc gear. All the stats go down a good bit if you use the wrong gear.
So really they aren't getting higher defense than normal.

To the point of the topic, SE has already started implementing class/level-specific gear. The lower-tier world-roaming NMs have a class restriction, the gear dropping from the dungeons has a "required" rank + some class restrictions. So, you are getting what you're asking for.

To the point of ARC being able to wear the same stuff, one of the better pieces for LNC/MRD/GLA(DD) is Solid Scale Mail from Ogre. And ARC can't use it... /shrug.

Sure, ARC may be able to equip a lot of the first-released equipment..... but if you're subbing out things that have bonuses to STR/DEX/Att/Acc for better Prot gear... well... you're doing it wrong. And like has been mentioned, if the gear you area wearing does not list your class as a favoured class, you receive diminshed returns for the stats on said piece of equipment.

I guess thats one item that works. But how can anyone explain the Bladedancer's Jackboot's. Don't they refer to players with bladed weapons? Im not certain but I think the Archer's are able use those too.

Maybe the system isnt completely broken, and like you say maybe they are working on it, but I think Im seeing some things that could be fixed or balanced. I could be wrong too I guess.

Off top of my head Bucc boots and Bladedancers boots are the only greaves Archer has access too. All that heavy plated stuff that has better defensive stats is still not available to archer I believe.

on that point, increasing the options, I agree. Would be nice to see gear that is more specialized for each class. Be it AF type gear or what.

And on your point of having a hard time getting gear cause you have to compete with ARC for that gear, well it could go both ways too I think. I have LNC, PGL, and ARC to 50. I get asked to come ARC for anything and everything even though I like my other other jobs too. I am having a hard time getting some other drops that my 2 other classes can wear that ARC can't, because most people see me as just an ARC.

IMO, I think the gear that is for all DoW should maybe have a more balanced stats in general. But the heavy plated stuff for MRD/LNC/GLA maybe focus more on stuff like STR/VIT/HP and have higher def. And, the lighter armor that PUG and ARC would wear be more focused on stuff like DEX/ACC/EVA and have lower def then all the others.
