This is no rant about hunts. Ok, maybe a little, but I actually have a question for people who are NOT in a hunt LS, large FC focused on hunting etc. Although that shouldn't really matter.
I'm not complaining about people beginning too early or so (that's understandable) and others not getting credit because of that, but something else.
Now that B ranks don't give seals outside of the weekly bill everyone who doesn't want to wait 6 hours for a FATE to pop will hunt A and S ranks. That means that there is an incredibly large number of players on one single A rank. I can understand that as A ranks only spawn every few hours.
Even in a full party and even though if I was there from the beginning I've never gotten full credit for an A rank though, neither as Tank nor as Healer. I didn't try as DPS since the patch.
I've almost always only gotten 2 seals. Once I've gotten 12 but that was at around 13:30 CEST.
What about you? How do you still get full credit if you do?
Especially as a Healer it's much more difficult now. Even on a gaming PC I'm lucky if ONE member of my party is visible (I know that only a limited number of players can be visible in one spot or something like that). On PS3 it's even more impossible than before. xD
While I've sometimes gotten at least 2 seals on PC I've never gotten ANYTHING on PS3 since the patch. But well, they want everyone to buy a PS4, so it's understandable that they make it harder for PS3 players ... ;D
A ranks are now more like S ranks, only that they die in 5 - 15 seconds.
15 seconds if it's in the morning or midday or so and 5 seconds in the evening. And I'm NOT exaggerating. Yesterday, a Wednesday, at 13:30, I was only able to use about 4 - 5 abilities before the enemy was dead. In the evening I could only use 1 - 2 abilities.
I don't know how it's on other servers but the few hunts where I arrived before pull the enemy was dead too fast to get full credit even in a full party.
And yes, you'll probably all tell me that's you're always getting full credit and it's sooo easy, everyone is visible and so on ... haha. xD
If you do, please tell me your secret to still get full credit on A rank hunts. ^^

Kinda agree with this, the amount of people on A ranks last night was much higher then before. If you were not in the zone when it was found, getting to a mob wasn't happening. Hunters are a lot more condensed into a few zones.

And what to do as a healer? I was once participating in an S rank hunt (before the patch btw.) where everyone in my group was invisible. Healing random people didn't help at all, I got 0 allied seals although the S rank even took a few minutes to kill. Other people in my group got 5 seals each. -

I always got full credit when my party was there from the beginning. No matter how many were attacking it. You always getting 2 seals sounds like a lie to me. I've gotten 12 seals alone as tank most of the time.

I'm not sure if it's by design or results from software limitations. Similarly, if there are too many people at the fight you can tag the mob and still not get on the hate list properly. As a new lvl 50 I attempted hunts yesterday. Found them to be absolutely horrible. I got some seals, but the mass zergfest just completely turned me off.
What I would personally like to see is instanced fights. For exampld the mob spawns at same pace as now, but some clickable interface spawns at a safe distance nearby. To fight the mob you click that and it enters your party/raid into an instanced fight. Whether they make it 4/8/24 man raid I dont care just balance the mob for it. Maybe 15 min(or 5 or 10) after the first group enters they both dissapear and no more can fight that hunt. I think that would still give the excitement of the hunt while getting rid of the pointless 200 people spamming anything for credit in the 7 seconds its alive. It would still provide for the open world dynamics of community, information sharing, and hunt groups, etc. Oh and have a lockout that that you can only enter that instance once every 15 minutes so groups cant farm it 5 times while it up. -

On the point of credit for hunts, I find the party credit system horrible. I arrived at one mob just before it died, got only a single scathe in, and received full credit due to party being there. Solo I could go through the blm rotation twice and still not get full credit.
