Oinions, why are they so rare?

I am from Ultros and maybe I see an onion to level my Chocobo once per week. I respect the fact to start changing chocobo colors to create diversity, but I would rather an easier recipe for onions to see them grow as stronger companions and pets.

Anyone remember Legend of Mana?

Why even have gardening? Or dungeons? Or any content? If everything was so simple it was trivial, nobody would be playing the game.
