Problem with dye seeds!!

Oh this isn't good...
Dye seeds aren't tradeable? I have only certain people gardening in my FC since there are 16 garden plots for over 100 people. A free for all isn't ideal. How am I supposed to grow dye for my FC mates this way?

eta: My solution for now is to make a temporary Dye Gardener rank. First come first serve; 1 seed per person. Even this solution doesn't feel so good. (and I have only 1 bed for crossing to get the onion and other things the FC needs. :( )

ugh, that will put more burden on the gardener. Maybe You could have dedicated people farming elite marks for seeds, give them permission to plant, but instruct them to talk to you first. You give them the right soil etc, they plant the seed, you do all the maintenance and harvesting?

This seems... stupid. My fc is small so I don't forsee this being a problem, I'll just free up a patch for a while and let people grow their stuff, but big fcs? Ew :( you're basically hoping for some generous soul to be willing to spend precious seals on seeds :/

This is a bit rough, I agree. There's a lot of burden on gardening right now and FCs have to make hard choices on how to deal with getting people the vanity they want.

I don't think this should have been a gardening thing at all, to be honest, but making it so people can't bring planters their seeds to plant for them? That's going to be make this very expensive for a few people.

I made a new rank (edited original post) for this with gardening privileges. There are only a couple of us that can/will farm soil for the FC or even monitor the gardens at all. :( Most people can't be bothered. So I'm asking folks to supply their own soil for their seeds. I'm guessing crosses won't be a thing, but even if they are, to be fair I can't hog the entire garden to myself. ^^; I've planted one bag of dark red with grade 3 shroud to see if we can even get more than one fruit per seed (my hopes aren't up.)

Personally, I'm happy with my DoM's gear, so i'm gonna farm the hunts whenever i need more seeds.

Currently got 1 full garden of the dye seeds, all in yield + soil xD Will let you know the results in a few days!

-edit- Re-read my original post, it didn't actually answer you. Yes it's right that these seeds can't be traded. I had to ask my FC lead to grab the last 3 i needed when i ran out of seals, and he couldn't trade them to me.

The way we've dealt with it in my FC is only a couple of us actually have gardening rights, i traded him the soil, he planted the ones he had.

What we don't know is if the dye fruit can be traded either. This is why I came up with the rank solution, just in case. I'd hate to buy and plant a bed full of seeds just to find out I can't share them with my FC. ; ;

Yeah, i ripped up my 2nd phase of crossing for glazenuts, we only have a small fc house, so one garden. Hard decisions had to be made :/

I'm hoping the items are tradeable upon growing. Should be, otherwise every single person in every single FC will need to get involved with gardening, and grow their own stuff. I can't see SE overlooking this fact at least, and they know not everyone is going to want to do that.

My assumption, the seeds wont' be tradeable, but the resulting fruits/snacks will be tradeable and sellable. 3 days time or so, market is going to be flooded lol.

I will sincerely hope so. :) I don't even mind spending my hunt seals if it means I can provide plenty of dye for everyone.

I checked the patch notes now twice and didn't any "untradeable" written on the fruits.
