Hiding Online ID

Not sure if this is in the right section, but this seems to be the best place. Now if you're a playstation player, you know that your PSN is displayed at the bottom of your character page as Online IDs. Lately My free company and I who are playstation players have been getting harassment messages on the PSN because they can see our IDs. I want option to hide it. I never gotten these kind of messages until I started Final Fantasy XIV. Even other games allow you to hide this information. I really wish this to be fixed. I like my PSN and Final Fantasy XIV information to be seperate. Linking it to the game is no problem, XI did that with Xbox Live Gamertag. Although, Final Fantasy XI did not display it for the world to see. I'm not asking to hide it completely, just have an option to hide for those like me who like their privacy outside the game.

I'm not saying that you're wrong for asking this, because no one deserves to be harassed, but only other Playstation players can see this ID. Perhaps not directly, but at the very least through the "Recent players met" option.

I think is is more of an issue for Sony to handle than SE personally.

Still, what kind of people do you possibly run into that will actively harass you through the PSN? Oo I never even get a hurtful tell, let alone something like that. What are you doing or saying that will make people follow you all the way to the PSN to get at you? :/

Nothing Warranted it. There was an incident that happened between my free company and another. We both had our houses in the same ward. They harrassed us just for being near their house. Since they could see our PSN IDs, they began to send us messages. This would not happen if the IDs were hidden. Not to mention None of the Final Fantasy Players ever show up on Recently Met.

I agree with this full heartedly. in my honest opinion, i firmly believe that no one should have to put up with dealing with being harrassed via their psn. It's not right nor is it fair for people to not only be harrassed in game but through their psn as well.

Wouldn't be bad to hide those(as an option - though I find it enjoyable when I spot someone with one and can go ohh a playstation player like me - yay).

As for the actual case(because let's face it they have them now)...
Open up a harrasement ticket with SE and report them to Sony as well. Either SE does something or Sony does(PS Vita/PS3/PS4 all have a report grief button).

I really like this idea. For those who want to display their IDs can and those who don't will have them hidden. This way those who want to be more private can have their privacy, and those who are more open can see each others.

I already did the necessary reporting. I just want this to be implemented in a future update.

I agree let ppl have the privacy they want, those who dont want it just Goes on like Now....but giv us an option to hide it at least

This was answered before in a previous PLL. This is Sony's policy and there is nothing they can do about it. Would suggest you file harassments both in game and to the PSN.

I say if people keep pushing the issue and the more of them that do should get psn to change their mind because at that point that would be too many people for them to ban etc. they would have no choice but to implement this feature because they don't wanna lose money and that's all they would do at that point if the number of people wanting this is greater
