Please stop making sidequests that only require to kill a set ammount of enemies

Problem

Guildleves already make us go hunting for enemies, doing the same in all the quests seems a waste of time and becomes really boring.
Currently most of sidequests consist in hunting 8 enemies, or killing them to retrieve 8 items. It feels like doing a non-repeatable quest.

Solution

Implement more quests like the pugilist rank 20 quest (named The House Always Wins).
This quest consists in going around Ul'dah collecting debts from people. You have to engage in mundane multiple tasks such as picking up coins in a room (on a timer) and fighting in the arena having to use the commands an NPC tells you to in the right moments.

Quests like this one show how creative the quest team can be, it seems like a waste to make quests that are pretty much the same than guildleves!

I think quests should be about doing alternative and unusual tasks.

exactly, so far I've only done a few, but they all consisted of killing 8 mobs for some reason or another.
i might finish off all the other ones sometime but I'm in no rush to do so.
they're not particularly interesting.

but on that note, i completely forgot that i still need to do the rank 20 pugilist quest, so I'll be doing that when i get on later :P

How about make sidequests that don't require us to run to the middle of east bum *** for a piece of crap gear. I wouldn't mind running out there for gear that is at least quasi-worth it. With no fame/honor system in place right now, these quests are useless filler.

I did one in Gridania last night that did not require me to kill mobs. I had to light torches for a man who can't see well in the dark.
