Summoner- Ifrit Rebalance Idea

I have some ideas that might help Ifrit to be a better addition to the team in the long run.

So fester is only affected by Bio, Bio 2, and Miasma, so, the first thing I would do is reduce the cooldown on enkindle, if that means lower the potency for the Egis etc., so be it. The next thing I would do would be to allow Ifrit's Inferno damage over time effect to work with fester as well, this would give you an extra burst of damage when using ifrit every now and then, depending on how much the cooldown reduction on enkindle would be, which I'm hoping would make him more useful, at least for your regular enemies.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this, however I'd much rather see Ifrit's stun or AoE changed into a Fester like ability for itself. IMO this would compensate for the lack of contagion with a bit of extra festering to maintain sustained DPS while letting us use Energy Drain freely without letting our DPS drop as a result. That downtime with aetherflow will be compensated with Ifrit's own Fester.

I'd think a 20-25 second recast for this Fester sounds reasonable? But alas, it's a change I can live without

I like your idea, although I'd still like to see the enkindle cooldown reduced, and all the nerfs that come with it, so that it's a more usable ability for your roster, with any egi.

I'm also guilty of being on some of those Summoner rework threads lol, but in the end I know they're working on rebalancing the pets, and if we eventually get some sort of Egi progression, (improved abilities, more detailed appearance in their egi form, size would be up to them, but no big deal) things like that, then I'd be one happy rpg camper.

To be honest I'm perfectly fine with SMN as it is now, I just want a reason to use Ifrit during boss fights

Atm I'm using Garuda for bosses (duh), Ifrit for trash packs and Titan for maps. I'd love to use Ifrit on bosses (I tried it once on T8 but I woulda had to relearn how to play SMN with Ifrit almost)

Ifrit is actually quite good on T6 and T8, even more so if you have a Warrior and a Monk to enhance his damage.

I'll have to try him in T6 then. T8 is harder cause our WAR switches to BLM (Plus MP starvation might come earlier and all that noise)

Make Ifrit ranged and make Radiant Shield an ability that you cast on others. Boom! Underpowered to overpowered just like that!

How about this? Person with the highest aggro (most likely the tank) ifrit gives them Radiant shield.
