Was Coil 2 and Ramuh extreme over tune?

I been thinking for a while since 2.2.. Was coil 2 and ramuh a bit over tune for average gamer? It is an observation a made over since 2.0. At the beginning of 2.0, even beginner group can made decent progress into first coil; with enrage method they can get to turn 2 , and they can get some coil loot for their trouble. And best of all, they felt they are working in progress and not wasting their time.

However, when 2.2 hit, people run into a wall known as turn 6. It was much too hard for average player. It took me a few weeks before I got my wins with a pug. Iknow more than a few group that can't turn 6 due to its unique property at the end. You either need crazy DPS or u need melee lb the giant slug. That mean: for a static that do average damage with no melee lb, they are screw basically. Actually, in fact, in 2.2, most of the tactic for turn 6-8 require some sort of melee lb; super slug in t6, final add in t7, and the dread in t8.

Now let's move to Ramuh Ex, it is a bit pain in the ass. I simply do not believe a group of pure i85 pug can beat it. And worst if all, it require a lot of coordination as well as "trust". Why trust? Simple, you must trust someone who is going to the shock the charmed, otherwise, double shock happens and cause wipe. And Tanks want people to clean up the orbs left behind but doesn't say so. Wipe again.

Before anyoen say I am complaining, I am currently working on T9, but still haven't clear Ramuh yet because much like everyone, I go hutbn to upgrade my gear for the first 2 weeks and nowsdays the on;y Ramuh group are either total beginner or want pure expert only. Neither are ideal for learning

No. I don't think it was overtuned for the average Joe gamer. However it's probably overtuned for NEW gamers that have no experience with team work and coordination in MMOs. That's why the difficulty should always slowly go up in content. So that it's not a cake walk up until x content. This is another reason why I don't think content should be nerfed to the ground. It'll already get "nerfed" enough by Ilvls going up with new content.

The difficulty in this game is non-existent. Savage coil is the only thing that has presented a single challenge to me, and it annoys the living hell out of me when I see people complaining wah wah wah its too hard. If the content is too hard for you, go do some of the more casual stuff. Don't ruin our fun just because you want to have something to complain about, because I could on the other hand complain about this game being too easy all day long. There is plenty else to do in this game to satisfy everyone. Let us more hardcore players enjoy our rough content that makes us smash our heads on the wall for several hours at a time. If you don't like it, its simple... go do hunts or fates or get your novus, or something of the more casual nature.

There's no reason to make this game super wishy washy easy peasy just because the players who can't do it are going to whine that ITS TOO HAAAAARD.

Also, complaining that loot is locked behind difficult content that is too hard for some people is no reason to give us content with no rewards. There's no reason the better players who can actually do this stuff don't deserve some sort of reward for their efforts... and right now just a simple little title is enough for me, but going forward now that we know this content is possible to clear, there is no reason to hold back. So what if only 100 people are able to achieve it? Then only 100 people deserve the prize and the rest can either get good or keep their mouth shut imo. I could say that obtaining novus is far too easy and just a waste of my consumable time and could cry all day that I'll never get it because I don't have the time to waste on that crap, but I don't.... I just don't get one instead. It should go both ways. If you're not good enough to clear the content, you don't deserve the loot. Go get your casual loots from CT/Hunts/FATEs instead.

Also add the fact that ramuh ex doesn't drop ilvl 110 rings. This is a major hindsight since you can now get unweathered rings in literally 1-3 hours, depending on your luck with log drops. Why they didn't do the same for ramuh makes no sense to me. SE has been making poor choices like this and its really irritaing me.

primal loot is meh and should always be meh compared to coil. The first wave of extremes was too OP for how easy it was. Although I will admit that it's far too easy to get i110 accessories from just collecting soldiery and seals from hunts... shouldn't be max level rewards for something so stupid casual as hunts. If anything yeah, the loot from hunts should be i100 and the new primal/coil should be i110.

RamuhEx and SCoB are fine. They are meant to be the most challenging parts of the game for the average player at the moment. In one or two patches they'll be easier, so wait for then if you really can't go through them. They do need to stop the lockout though for SCoB with this upcoming 2.35 Patch because there's literally no reason for it to exist anymore. Hunts already eliminated iLvl.110 gear being limited.

Uh, cutting lockout on coil? No thanks. Last thing we need is people farming the crap out of it and selling the content to scrubs who buy runs before the new coil actually comes out. There is no reason to bring it off lockout until new coil on lockout is available to us. On the flipside, they should actually remove the lockout from savage so that more groups could combine together to take down the harder stuff, just don't offer any loot rewards at all - title only. Right now the same loot drops on the same lockout, which is preventing the groups with 2-3 players who don't want to touch it from even going in at all because they can't make replacements.

Turn 6 is a step up from Turn 5, it is a natural progression. To say it is overtuned is ridiculous.
You do not need melee LB, most of the groups I know (If they even do Superslug) use caster LB anyway.

Going back to this, actually......... You don't need melee LB if you do the slugs the way that SE intended them to be done. If you watch the videos for T6 Savage (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUDzBQ4ynqg won't even make you look around!) then you'll see how SE intended this final phase to be done. Rather than one giant super slug that eats all 3 and NEEDS to be LB'd because its too OP, they wanted players to kill slugs individually one at a time and have the honey's spread out. Individual super slugs can be burned down to the ground no problem and won't wipe the entire raid because of OPness. It's just that coordinating this and making sure timings are done properly I guess are far too hard for people in general. On the other hand, burn strat is super stupid easy but not what SE intended to be done at all, but your DPS ACTUALLY HAVE TO PLAY THEIR CLASS and not just dragonkick the boss from behind for 3 minutes or Fire III > Blizzard III > Fire III > Blizzard III > Fire III > Blizzard III all day.

Of course, just because SE wanted it to be done one way doesn't mean that people will do it that way unless they force them to (ie by super tuning the fight to make sure you do it one way and one way only or wipe, such as the savage turns.) The burn strat for T6 and even T2 enrage are perfect examples though of unexpected player behavior. If it weren't for enrage strat on t2, honestly... people would've been stuck on it for months because OMG ROT IS HARD... to this day people still don't even have a clue what rot is thanks to enrage (not that it's wrong, but it's something SE didn't take into account happening, and by the time they found people using the enrage strat it was far too late to fix it and would be unfair after all those people who used it to get the ezpz loot pinata down. So instead of fixing it, they learned from their mistakes and made sure it wouldn't happen again this time.)

They are. That's why we charge them 1millllllion gil to clear it for them, since they can't do it themselves. Of course then they get to Turn 6 and moan and complain and whine all day that it's too hard.
