Desynth - Getting Started?'s

I've looked, but can't find a decent "how-to" post on getting started on desynthesis. Can someone help point me in the right direction? I see plenty of end-game posts which appear very helpful, but I need help getting started. My fear is screwing up the level cap and the 300 levels to all crafting classes but only being able to max a few. Where do I start? Just make some low level stuff and pick "dysnth" and build up the exp from that - as long as I'm dong so in the class I want to level? Just confused and don't want to do something I might not be able to un-do. Any feedback is appreciated.

That's because pre-"end game" lasts for maybe 30 minutes (leveling is very quick). Pre-50/55, just buy gear from NPCs and desynth them. Depending on your craft, it may be cheaper to craft 40-50 items yourself and desynth them. 55+, refer to the end-game guides.

Yes, you just get items and hit desynth. You can buy basic gear from NPCs to start. What exactly you desynth is up to you. Higher level items will have a lower success rate until you level up some more but offer a lot more XP, so it's your choice for constant but slower XP or gamble for high value xp gains.

You can "undo" desynth levels just by leveling something else. There is a method to lock your levels that is posted on these forums as well as the devs adding a way to lock your level in the future, but desynth classes you aren't using will have a chance to go down in level whenever you desynth on something else.

As far as I know all that having more levels does is increase your chances to successfully desynth higher level items.

My "endgame guide" is actually a leveling guide now as well. I just can't change the title and don't want to start a duplicate post. Check it out for cheap options at every level for each class (except ALC and CRP are still missing recommendations for 10-55 since I haven't had time to add those in yet).
