MMO user research

Hello All!

My name is Matthew Phillips and I am a graduate student at the University at Buffalo in New York. I study anthropology and I am looking on gathering some preliminary data for my thesis. In general I will be comparing data we can obtain from sandbox MMOs in contrast to work that has been done on theme-park open worlds. While Final Fantasy would surely fall under the "theme-park" designation, I want to get perspectives from players of all MMOs and yours are just as valuable as those playing sandbox MMOs. As such, I was hoping to have a bit of help from the community and hope you don't mind me posting this thread here in this section.
