So I accidentally bought a duplicate recipe book...

...from the NPC.

Stupid mistake I know... but shouldn't they have disabled the ability to buy a recipe book once you've bought it... or at least offer a buyback option... >.<

Guess I will always have this book now...not gonna ditch on a sliver of hope.

Could try contacting support, as far as I know they do have some sort of "get item back once"-policy, maybe they also have a "revert accidental item buy once"-policy.

they even ask you if you really want to turn in the needed items before you select them

I actually happened to do the exact same thing about 2 days ago.
They really shouldn't allow you to buy a book you have used before, it's kinda like it they were to let you buy...sssaaaayyyyyy.... an atma book you've completed (imo).
I'm just keeping it in my inventory as a badge of my stupidity.

Even minions and other things, they should have a big green Check or "already known/acquired" and be greyed out permanently..

I'm pretty sure they have better things to do then taking care on sth like this... how the hell cant someone not know which books he already received?
it takes literally less then 10 seconds to check if you really own it or not

Quality of Life and just common sense really.
WoW does it so well and has so since the start for these things: if you already know it/have it, the item lets you know so you dont buy it twice - mounts, pets, recipes, etc.

^^ this. For books, for minions and also for Leves. Pretty please. It would not hurt to display this kind of information. I got a few master books from 2.2 and when 2.3 hit us, I got all books from 2.3 and tried to also get the ones I missed from 2.2. I had to talk with FC mates to compare the recipies because I couldn't really tell which one were only in 2.2 and which came from 2.3. Sure, with a better remembering brain or with a bit of research before buying the 2.3 books, I could have avoided it. But it wouldn't hurt if the Game would be a bit more user friendly here.
