Allow to queue while your chocobo is out.

There's absolutely no reason not to. There are many times when you are leveling a class or killing stuff for w/e reason (alexandrite maps/leveling your chocobo etc.) and your chocobo really helps a ton, classes like SCH or WHM have it easy more or less to solo required fates for example that an Atma book asks them, but a MNK, BRD or DRG can't solo absolutely anything without the aid of their chocobos, I think it's not fair because DPS are the ones who precisely suffer more from long queue times, so they always have to prequeue beforehand, but then, they can't really do anything half interesting either on the meantime because their chocobo can't be called or their duty is cancelled. And ironically, the healers who have almost instant queue times do not need the assistance of their chocobo because they are capable of soloing anything by themselves.

I've wondered for some time why this hasn't been addressed. Want to grind fates while waiting for a dungeon to pop? Better be alone. Accidentally summon Chocobo while in que? Just remove us from duty finder with no notice.

Largely because the current implementation of the chocobos literally counts them and treats them as a full fledged party member.

They've said they're working on it, but it's something that actually requires a lot more work to change than you'd expect because it involves tinkering with some extremely core sections of how the Duty Finder, parties, companions, etc. all work.

It's already being worked on, it's just not as simple to do as everyone thinks because of the way they implemented the companion system.

They have to redo the group-system to make sure Chocobo's aren't count as a partymember, but at the same time a raidgroup won't be able to call 8 Chocobos once there inside coil. That takes time.

How does it work with summons? If you have a summon up does it cancel a DF registration? I imagine it's different since other party members can't see your summon as a party member.

Can't they just switch it so chocobo are handled the same way and are dismissed upon instance entry.

If I remember correctly, they said they don't want to make the Chocobo like a summon because there are certain things about the way they work as a party member that they really like that can't be emulated if they changed it.

Yeah, there is. The way the party system and queue systems were designed are the limitations here. They've said before the system wasn't designed to do it and it is something they were looking at.
