Suggestion: Fishing offhand item, "Tackle Box"

This slot is currently empty, and bait piles up in inventory. How about an offhand box for bait?

Make it craftable by armory or blacksmith (Not sure which one needs another item in their list) and have the number of slots increase as it's level goes up.

From a programming point of view there is already a bait GUI in the fishing menu. And I'm guessing the mechanic from the armory chest could be used. So it would probably not take very much "completely new" code.

The existing materia-check could be used when selling or converting as well. "All bait in this tacklebox will be destroyed. Are you sure you want to do this? (Show bait window to confirm it's empty)"

It appears there is already a thread talking about this kind of thing that has been. With 11 pages of positive comments over the last year.

Fisher is designed to have no off-hand tool. If they add tackle box with gathering and perception bonuses then people suddenly can catch big fish super easy, if they add tackle box with no gathering and perception bonuses then people instantly start new forum whine about tackle boxes being useless unless they add stats.

No not useless, they'd be an extra inventory slot for bait. I think it's an awesome idea as bait can take up quite a bit of inventory space. I'd certainly not whine about it not having stats, as you pointed out it doesn't need it, it would just be a very useful little extra.

I'm sure people who are fishers would care less about stats on the tackle box, as it is the bait and tackle can easily fill your inventory right up. It would be a welcome addition stats or no stats, I am sure most would agree. I haven't played every class but it seems like the only one with no off-hand, and useless GP. They need to change something on it.

Aye, it doesn;t need offhand stats to be a useful addition. Anyone that complains about "wanting more" should be told to be grateful we got anything.

Personally I wouldn't care about it not having stats if it gave us 30 slots to store a variety of bait so you can fish on the fly without taking up valuable bag space.

Agreed, just a place to store bait. Dax sometimes discards a low value item or eats just to free up a slot in inventory.
