Yet Another ATMA Post

Why not just up the drop % by just .1 every time you complete a fate and dont receive an atma drop

you still get the grind but the more you grind the higher chance youll get one

some get them within a few hours some never get them at all i get that but i feel like this would be the simplest and reasonable way to deal with the frustrations that come with atma

i understand that its a legendary weapon these things shouldnt just be handed to you
but there needs to be a balance between practicality and immersion and the grind people are so frustrated over is just not a good thing for the game

I disagree. If you're lucky enough you can get without that much grind. It's all about luck.

thing about atma is some people are lucky and can have the weapon within a day so in a sense it is handed to them, no skills or anything required.
I would rather not know how many fates i have done in 3 + months to try and get blm atma weapon but do agree with you

TLDR: Dev is lazy. They recycled old content, throw in horrible drop rates to gate players. Effectively breaking the main differentiator of this game, multi classing on a single toon.

I really want to continue to love this game, but the slaps across the face is starting to hurt a lot. I resubbed for 2.3 and immediately felt cheated and abused.

You're right, nobody is forced to do anything. Truly. In fact, nobody is forcing anybody to do Hunts, 2cob, crafting, or anything in this game for that matter. People do it out of their love from a combination of all of the things I've listed because there's a certain balance of work and reward. Whenever there's an imbalance, grievances pop up. In this case, I argue ATMA is the worst "design" and mechanic this game has seen thus far. They are literally designed to waste subscription time in the most cost effective way possible for the developers.

If you feel it is a waste of your game time and sub money, then don't do it. Simple as that. I have recently started farming ATMA pieces and I'm really enjoying going back to all the old zones I haven't played through in a while and doing all those fates I didn't do at the time.
If I ever find myself getting bored in an area, then I just switch to the next area on my list that I need an ATMA from and do fates there for a while. Plus, seeing the 'You obtain an Atma of...' text is a really rewarding feeling.

I think some people get too hung up on the reward for completing something, and forget to actually enjoy the journey that gets to said reward.
