When is the next major expansion coming?

And can you direct me to the patch notes/preview/etc? I see a lot out there, but I'm not sure what information is reliable.

The time in between each patch is about 3 - 4 months. 2.1 was release in Dec, 2.2 in March and 2.3 was Jun. So you can probably estimate 2.4 will be here around Sept/Octo. Course things never goes as plan so take this with a grain of salt o3o.

A long time ago Yoshi apparently stated they're planning on having the first expansion pack released around 1-2 years after launch, so that means it would probably be sometime next year. Whether SE are still sticking to that rough time window is unknown though.

As Exia said though, the major content patches which could be considered mini-expansions in a way are added roughly every 3-4 months (the last one was the 2.3 patch, or 'Defenders of Eorzea' as it was subtitled), so the next major one won't be for a few months yet. As for the patch notes, they can be found fairly easily on the Lodestone.

I predict early 2015 we'll get the expansion. 2.4 will end The Coils 2.5 will pretty much end the crystal tower after 2.5 is when we'll see 3.0

3months between the 2.x patches, I have a feeling there will be a bigger time gap between 2.5 and the expansion though =/
