Patch !.18 Melee & Mages

Ok I will keep this moderately short and to the point.

1) Auto-Attack =
Too slow for melee class and In my opinion is why in FFXI players had trouble staying awake, if their characters are doing all the work and you just sit there staring at the screen you get sleepy.

Auto-Attack is just no good for those players who want to have a interactive role in the game with AA on I'm no longer playing just watching it play itself.

Please have Auto-Attack as a option to be chosen for those who wish it but for those who like to Play the Game not just Watch it can use the manual and far more interactive battle system and more FUN.

2)Mage MP Nerf
Bottom Line .... Un-Nerf the mages. There are those who like the fact that you can solo as a THAU or CON and so what if you are a MP powerhouse, that is what makes it FUN and again Auto-Attack should be an option for those who wish it as far as mages are concerned AA seems to be fine its just the MP nerf thas killing them.

It's cool to solo as a mage and not be relegated to a support role, for myself and perhaps other Melee minded players it makes the transition easier to move from Melee to mage so it doesn't feel like a chore to rank/level another class, but most importantly it makes you feel like you can make a difference in Parties and not just be there for healing or artillery.

3) Levequests/GIL/SP Rewards
The old reward system was better and more FUN in my opinion I felt the rewards that I received were well deserved and earned now when I do them they seem like a waste of time... and that is all I have to say about that.

I have been away from the game for a while due to work and life but when I had time to relax and have fun I played FFXIV. I played a couple days before the patch and was really enjoying my PUG.... after patch .... <sigh>.

As far as the Grand Companies, the continuing of the main storyline and the cosmetic changes to the game in general... Great!!.

Square Enix Developers I hope that you take into consideration what I have said here and at least provide a choice for a Manual (and by Manual I mean basically pre-patch 1.18) or Auto-Attack system in later patches. Please make it fun to attack and use magic with mages again and return our rewards to us it is not FUNto play a quest that feels more like a chore because the reward is no good.

Agree, mister! Its very close to the feedback i gave them.

Mages are overpowered (in a good way imo) in every game, and its because not many are willing to play that class/job usually. But in this game a lot more people chose mages, I wonder if they were trying to deter it, so you can search for a mage for days >.< (half joke). I think regardless, some people will QQ and sometimes its respectable, I mean some classes have never been good, and probably will never be if they don't wake up and smell the coffee. MRD, and LNC for example. I think they should beef up those classes. In regard to mage soloing, in this game it did not take a lot thought to solo it just took time. Now its just time+mp and nearly impossible. If a mage or any class in this game can solo it should take items (disabling pots, hi pots w/e) and thought.

While a lot of people ask for AA system of FF XI, I personnally did not vote for it because i thought that the game need to fix technical bugs and improve already existing system instead of taking everything from FF XI.

But now i love it LOL !!!

I am a mage CON 31 and the addition of AA and increase of MP Heal made the mage job for me completly extraordinary !!!

So I completely disagree with you second point :

For a mage :
Before:
Solo : Spam dart & spam heal and WS when TP enought ( NO CHALLENGE)
Group : THE SAME (WTF ??)
Now:
Solo : I have to use all my spells and skills and it is challenging lol
Group : I can be a true healer because not everyone can heal jsut like me

Last night, i was doing solo leves rank 30 with my CON 31 i was fighting group of monsters between 28 adn 35 and YES the fight was a litlle longer a little more difficult but so more FUN and interesting :D
I never actually had to wait for MP because :
I was not spamming cures for nothing
I was syphon MP mobs
I use the skills Spiritbind
Protection Stygian Spikes
And the refresh MP skill

So i was shocked at the beginning by the increase of MP for Cure but it is a really good thing because now i can really have a job of healer in a party (did multiple times toto-rak) and the tank or dd close range is not healing for me and its challenging and fun to play : i have to use all my skills !!!

I agree that there is some adjustments to do (Group SP, Enmity, ...) but for the mage, AA and increase of MP was a true revelation !!!

LOL thats why I said as far as mages are concerned AA is OK but most posts that I have read most mages complain about the MP nerf.

This is why I also suggest that AA should be by preference and not forced upon the player.

Indeed. I always asked them to make AA an option and not the base of the battle system. Hopefully they will double check other basic actions' recast so those not willing to rely on AA can still play manually.
