Frontlines Queueing is broken

My roomate and I are the same grand company(Maelstrom). I queue first solo for Frontlines and click join in progress (as a scholar or black mage). They queue after me solo, in progress as a bard. Their queue pops instantly. My queue takes half an hour plus to pop. This is consistent - I have never had a queue pop before them, and I always queue before them to test it. I then withdraw from the queue and requeue and still wait a very long time - I usually give up after half an hour.

If they queue after me and get in before me, is the game not processing my character properly?
