If I'm getting a 2nd Relic, do I still need to fight the primals in order?

When I first went through, I had to unlock them in order. Now that I have access to them all, does order matter after I beat the hydra?

This is just a guess but you probably have to go by whatever your duty list shows you. IIRC it only shows you the primals one after another; Ifrit, Garuda, then Titan. Meaning you would probably have to do them in that order in order to receive the key items.

It is different later on with the quest Primal Focus, which shows you all three EX primals at once as objectives. For this quest, you can fight them in whichever order you like (assuming that you have them all unlocked already, of course)

iirc, the items you need come up in a certain order, so yes. You just don't have to go through the trouble of unlocking them again.

You need to fight them in order, but you dont have to go through unlocking them all again at least

Just read the quest, it will say where to go.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to kill Ifrit/Garuda/Titan in order because they are all part of the same quest, and killing them gives you a key item.

From what I remember, the quest won't show the next objective until you do them in order.

hm, I could have sworn the quest tracker showed killing all 3 as 1 step. I could be mistaken.

Thanks. Reason I ask was because another member in my FC was getting her first relic and she was at Garuda. I wanted to check to see if I could fight Garuda and Titan with her and then do Ifirt. It worked out in the end. We rushed the primals in order and I got my 2nd relic (BLM) but too low on Myth to Zenith it. The other FC got her first relic as a WHM.

I don't think you have to do them in order because they all are on the same duty list and you already have them unlocked.

I've got 3 Zeniths and I didn't do them in order the last time.

So what you do is check all 3 in DF and also check in progress so you can get in faster. The HM fights are the easiest compared to regular and EX
