Unhidden Map: Sell or Decipher?

Unhidden Maps are 800k-1m on my server right now. Should I sell or use my map? What are the rewards in the Unhidden Maps, any ideas?

Sell it. The rewards really aren't very worthwhile, at least on Leviathan. Sure you could get the pet supposedly, but that's equally as big of a gamble as the sapling/tonberry/bird is. I've done 2 maps, the first yielded around 3/4 of a return from potentially selling it, so not bad. The second however yielded 1/100 of a return... so it's equally as much of a gamble as the normal maps.

It's over 300k on my server for the map. I regret not selling mine I only got 190k worth from it.

If I sold everything from my first map I used I would have gotten back around 300k. It really depends but if they're going for a lot on your server I would say sell it, unless you're the gambling type. I always use my maps, I enjoy the mystery :D

Are they actually selling? I don't think any have actually sold yet on Moogle. They've been put up too expensive for what you can get really. (As far as I know, only rare stuff is mist silk, polarized lens and very rarely floss silk).

I guess it just depends on how much gil you're willing to "waste"
If you need the gil, sell it. If you feel lucky use it! ^_^

You should be able to solo them pretty easily on most jobs. Did one on my i96 WAR practically in my sleep.

I got mine from my daily map harvest (boar -> unhidden). I was pretty excited about getting and just popped it. They were selling for around 250K on Tonberry at the time, I ended up with around 350K worth of stuff out of it.

I got one yesterday and it had 10k gil, 300 wind shards, Mariner cotton cloth, and mist silk which I sold for 450k. You can also get the Nutkin minion in the unhidden maps which sell very well if you can get one.
