[Yoshi-P] Letter for the Producer V and possible solution for Hunt

I was re-reading this letter and stumble upon something you said earlier.

9. If the current target claiming system were done away with, would you be in favor of a system that rewards skill, experience, and loot only to the party that first deals damage to an enemy? Or would you be in favor of skill, experience, and loot being distributed amongst all parties that contributed to an enemy's defeat?

Maybe that third option is the key. Parties that get first claim get the reward of random drops while everyone would gets full allied seals. Use the FATE HP system and have the Hunt show up on radar after the first party gets the claim.

I'd prefer the Hunts to be like the Odin system, HP-wise & reward-wise.

You and a million others... don't let the 3rd party software users kid you, it's cheating and it's destroying this content.

While I do agree that FATE's are better than hunts right now, I do understand what the devs tried to do. FATEs lack that magic of stumping upon a powerful monster. For a second, you wonder if you can take it on by yourself or need help.

Obviously this would need some work but it rewards player who where first but doesn't punish those who still show up to help out. It still requires people to hunt around the zone to find them but alerts the zone with one has been engaged so you don't have the drama of waiting for someone. Yea you'll get the claim drama but in the world of NM's it's first come first serve.

In terms of Odin, it would be like a full party finding and engaging him. They would get a Odin Barding while everyone who help would get a mantle that they could use to buy the bard when they get enough.

Think the drama is bad now? It would be a LOT worse if this was implented.

Don't think there's a need for them to show up on radar, just SE to clamp down on radars or encode the monster info so they can't be read on the client.

Have the target require an emote from a fixed number of players to enable it to be targetable. Number of emotes dependent on Rank.
