Could we get the ability to save different kind of UI layouts?

Hey!

I play a scholar as my main class and I have customized my UI so that it makes my healing job very fluent and easy for me. However, I've been wanting start farming those Tank specific mounts. This would naturally mean that I'd have to be tanking to get those. Here's the problem for me. I love having my party list on the right side of the screen, and my enemy list on the left. For tanking I prefer these other way around just to have easier time clicking through monster list etc. So every single time I switch roles, which is close to 10-15 times a day, I have to move my UI elements around. It's getting pretty tedious and really putting me off from doing any content as a tank.

Could there ever be a possibility to get a feature that would allow you to save couple of different UI layouts? Other mmo games like WoW do this via add-ons (altho think they added something native for this too, someone correct me if I'm wrong?)

Yoshida answered this in a live letter recently (one of the ones around E3, I think?) saying that they are aware that people want this and would like to provide it, but its very difficult for them to do so memory-wise. They are working on it but its probably going to be a while before we hear more.

Thanks for the reply, well glad to know that they're aware of the thing at least. :)

Would be nice if it saved the ui with each armory set, to have, for example as I have, 2 sets for MNK, one for PvE one for PvP. Of course I don't want the PvP abilities on the PvE set :)

Nope - that's only about hotbars in relation to gearsets.

Anyway - if you're playing on PS4 you already have one extra UI setup which could be saved separatelly for Vita and if you're not using Vita for remote play it could be used as "backup" UI save.

It seems a bit excessive to save the entire UI layout for every set of cosmetic gear. I doubt many players really want to alternate between 33 different layouts (not to mention having to make any changes in each of those). Most players who want this feature want two or maybe three layouts, not dozens of them.

I'd like to be able to save layouts. I'd also like for these to be saved at the system level rather than by character, so those of us with multiple characters can, when we have a layout we like on one character, save it and apply it on another character. But I think it should happen when we choose to select "load UI layout X", not happen just because we changed our gear.
