Hint to SE - Balancing hunts

Want to alleviate server issues regarding hunts and ease new players progress at the same time?

Duty roulette (low level):

+10 allied seals (once per day)
+5 allied seals (repeatable)
Adventurer in need : +2 allied seals

We will probably make instant queues for all new players.

Hunt seal rewards for something not hunts? Not going to happen.

Putting the points into another already used system won't fix the actual problems. It just moves the currency somewhere else.

There already exists a daily system for hunts. The problem is you get all of like 6 points a day for it. So it would take me 125 days to get 1 Sand of Time at that rate. That's well into 2.4 before I'd see a reward. It should be possible, through daily hunts, to get 1 Log a week at 250 points. That would be about 35 points a day and would get you a sand once every 3 weeks. That's only slightly faster than the rate you can get one in the second coil if your group is clearing all 4 turns in a week. It's far more realistic and casuals can actually participate. This way casual players could actually get SOMETHING out of this system. Right now if you don't group up and run around for elite hunts you won't ever get anything of value. Good luck with that glamor gear.

Ya adding allied seals to non-hunt events won't help the situation.

The only way to fix the issue would be through the following ideas:

-Elite Mark Weekly Hunts only grant the reward listed on the paper (This would stop people from camping a mob once they target the weekly mob, you then increase the mytho/soldier/seal gain for weekly mobs and make the "elite mark" a more casual friendly experience)

-HP+ based on how quickly the mob is killed from when it is "claimed", If a mob goes down fast say 1 min, then HP increases 10x for the next spawn

-Turn the potential of Rank A/S mobs dropping the 250 allied seal book into a "weekly" drop only where once you get the drop off the mob you can't get anymore book drops for that week.

-Potentially have it where in S rank mob fights, the more players targeting the mob the more minions that appear to help the S rank mob, say for the first 16 players 1 add appears, and then every 8 players to engage the boss/add after that an additional minion spawns, to not only allow potential for a bit more of a challenge but to also allow more opportunities to gain allied seal cap for those fights.

-Most drastic change of them all would be to add a limitation to how many sand/oils could be obtained per week with this method.

7 seals a day. 3x 1 seal + 2x 2 seals. 3 + 4 = 7. Still laborious to get Sands that way, but I've learned to follow any horde I see and get a few hunts in a day as well. It's a problem of availability, either way. Even if they decrease seal costs, you still can't get many seals off hunts as a solo player not in a dedicated group since they die so quickly from spawning. Increasing the daily reward is just another band-aid, there has to be a way of balancing mark difficulty and availability to the most players for credit but as-of-yet it seems to be lacking.

The currency is used to buy Sands and little else. Adding the rewards people are actually after to other content would definitely help with the current situation of hunts eclipsing almost everything else in terms of rewards (which is the reason they're being spammed).
It doesn't even need to be Allied Seals. Give casual-friendly alternatives to get Sands (and Oils to a lesser extent), and the playerbase will naturally go back to doing these instead of having everyone spam hunts because they're the most-efficient casual path for progression.

You can get GC seals through DR. Weird but whatever.

If hunts are the only thing, then whatever you do in terms of balancing (short of killing it), you are stressing the server. If the server can't handle the load (S ranks!), push them away onto other areas. Simple.

To begin with take away the Myth and Soldiery rewards.
Hunting NMs (if in a hunting party) is the fastest way to collect myth and soldiery. Take away those rewards, players will have to partake in other content to fulfill those needs i.e. dungeon roulette.

Increase spawn rate of all ranks of NMs, create a significant variable in the window of which they spawn.
Right now B marks spawn every hour, and A marks spawn every 3 or 4 hours. These are kept on a pretty tight schedule and hunting groups create an established pattern going from zone to zone based on time of death.
With increased spawn rate, and larger variable of a spawn window, marks will more often over lap their spawn times, in effect splitting multiple hunting parties amongst different NMs.

Make Rank B marks spawn window 20-45 minutes
Rank A marks spawn window 1-2 hours
Rank S marks make their windows 4-6 hours.

Decreasing the myth and soldiery rewards will make people consume other content to meet those needs, increasing the spawn rate with a larger variable window will distribute the concentration of players across multiple zones.

over all it creates more opportunity for people to collect allied seals, disperses players over multiple zones, and directs players to different content based on wanted rewards.

Add the rewards to other systems? Yes, and they've already said Sands will eventually drop from CT so that's only a matter of time. (Honestly most of the people are after sands of time)
Adding the seals to other systems? No. It completely negates doing hunts at all to give you rewards that are supposed to come from hunts.

It's currency. Currency specifically intended to come from hunts. If it comes from roulette then it's nothing more than another form of Myth or Solidery coming from exactly the same content as myth and solider.

Don't add currency to "Easy to do" existing systems just because you want the rewards. You should still be encouraged to do the hunt system and as a game developer that's exactly what square is going to do. Hunts should just be made a little more user friendly. Fix the daily rewards and be done with it.
