Path companions
Anyone else remember a long time ago hearing about the return of our path companions sometime in 2.X?
What ever happened to this? I miss my path companion and honestly hope it turns into something like the Star Wars online Companion system where you can relate to them as well as hunt with them?

Oh yes this! I miss my old Path Companion too - having my chocobo as a companion is nice and all, but the Path Companions really fitted the story and functioned as your character's 'voice' in cutscenes. Considering the new minion guide actually quotes a Path Companion for the wind-up sylph (fittingly, given the fact my Path Companion in 1.0 didn't exactly get along well with them!), I'm wondering if SE is indeed planning on their reintroduction later on.
After all, Path Companions also served a gameplay function in 1.0 in that they allowed Disciples of the Hand and Land to undertake story quest battles (the same reason for the Parley minigame), and as Parley has since returned in ARR (unexpectedly), I'm hoping that the Path Companions will also indeed be coming back sometime in the future. :)
